We're happy to announce that Amoria Bond Charitable Trust will be heading back out to Lima in Peru on 8th – 16th June to move closer toward our target of building 100 homes to house at least 500 of the most impoverished people in Peru, those from the shanty town of Las Laderas.
In June 2011 we commenced the project and 14 Amoria Bond employee volunteers went and worked hard for a week, completing 15 houses. Since then we have funded a further 25 homes bringing our current total to 40 houses completed.
We are currently getting together the 2013 team. On June 8th that team will self fund a week long trip, paying for their own flight and committing to raising at least £600 each towards the cost of building the homes.
By night they will be living in a children's refuge among children whose families are supported by Project Peru.
By day they will be testing their building skills, grafting hard in the Shanty Town, working with local builders constructing homes for those most in need.
If you would like to support this initiative you can donate on Amoria Bond Charitable Trust's Just Giving Page. Unlike many charities, the funds don't get consumed in office and staff overheads. This is 100% voluntary based and the funds raised go directly to the project.
